Gift Ideas for Mom and a Fabulous Giveaway!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  I am so excited to start off the week with a great giveaway from Kathy Kuo Home.  Don't you wish every Monday started off this way?  Thought so!

With Mother's Day just around the corner, we thought it would be a great time to give away a $200 gift card to Kathy Kuo Home!  Now, you might want to use this card to buy your mom, mother-in-law, grandmother or someone else that is special to you a fabulous Mother's Day gift or you just might want to use it towards a special gift for yourself! You get to decide!

I have shopped Kathy Kuo Home's website and have come up with some great gift ideas.  I think you will love them as much as I do!

First up, I absolutely adore these wall plaques.  These would make such special gifts being that they have such sentimental messages, they can be used in any room and they will compliment any style of decor.

So sweet, aren't they?  I love my "Everyday I Love You" plaque from Kathy Kuo Home!  It hangs in our mudroom which is right by the garage door...the perfect place for my family members to see it when they come and go!

So simple yet it makes such a big impact!  You can see more gorgeous wall art HERE!

Another idea...these precious pillows.  There is no such thing as having too many throw pillows, trust me on this one!

It is safe to say a few of these are on my wish list! You can see all the beautiful throw pillows by clicking HERE!

This unique vase also caught my eye!  Simply fill it with the recipient's favorite flowers and you are done!  Simple and pretty!

You can find this particular vase HERE and you can view the whole collection of vases HERE.

Lastly, who wouldn't want to receive one of these beauties?  These decorative boxes are great for storing jewelry and keepsakes.  Additionally, they would look amazing styled on a dresser, nightstand or bookshelf!  Pretty and functional...yes, please!

Kathy Kuo Home has a wonderful selection of decorative boxes to fit any style!  You can see the collection HERE!

Hopefully these ideas will make your shopping a little easier.  I am sure a $200 gift card would also do the trick!  To enter the giveaway, see the Rafflecopter box below and follow the instructions.  Winner will be contacted via email on Tuesday, April 20th.  Best of luck!  Thank you, Kathy Kuo Home, for sponsoring this giveaway!

My new wire basket!

Happy Saturday!

I am sure you all know about Decor Steals, right?  If you don't, well now is the time to check them out!  Each day they offer a new item for sale.  They have so many great products up for grabs and it will soon become a website you will want to check daily!

One of my favorite Décor Steals products is this wire basket and it just so happens to be up for grabs today!

What I love most about it is that it can be used in a variety of different ways!  The stand and basket are separate pieces which just adds to the endless possibilities of ways to style it.

Here are a few ideas I came up with:
1. Use it as a planter on the patio.
2. Use it in the bathroom to hold rolled up towels.
3. Use it in a playroom for toy storage.
4. Add a rustic wood top and use as a side table
5. Use it in a child's room to hold books or stuffed animals.
6. Line it with plastic and use it as a drink holder at an outdoor party.
7. Use it in a bedroom for extra blankets and pillow storage.
8. Use it next to the fireplace to store firewood.

Those are just a few ideas...I am sure you can think of even more!

I have had mine for a few weeks and have used it in a few different ways but lately it has been used as a planter for a fern!  I styled it outdoors on my patio and inside my home in various locations so you could see how versatile it is!

The color is the perfect mix of "chippy' blue and aged metal.  While it is not a vintage piece, it has a wonderful patina!

*Thank you, Decor Steals, for sponsoring this post!*

Thank you L Marie Designs for the fabulous images!  If you are in the Dallas area, I highly recommend her for photography services!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend...I am off to soccer!

DIY: {Wood Bead Garland Strand}

Last week I was doing some shopping and of course had to run into Pottery Barn to look around.  I came across this wood bead garland and loved the look of it...

photo: PotteryBarn.com

They had a few different options that ranged from $24.95-$34.95.  Now that is not a terrible price, but I knew I could make it for a lot less.  I left the mall and headed to Hobby Lobby where I found some great wood beads for $1.99/package.  I had twine at home but you can find it at any craft store and usually at most dollar stores!

With the help of my 7 year old daughter and a crochet needle, we simply strung the beads onto the twine...

Once we used all the beads, we just tied the ends together...seriously the easiest DIY ever!

For under $5, I would say this project was a huge hit!

I cannot wait to make more!  What do you think about it?
