Summer Fun Birthday Gift Idea...{Sponsored by HomeGoods}

Today I am sharing a fun birthday gift idea that is great to give to that hard to buy for person!  Whether it is your best friend, a co-worker, a neighbor, your sister, mom or mother-in-law...we all have those "hard to buy for" ladies in our lives!

I headed to Home Goods and found all the items I needed.  I picked up an adorable, glass drink dispenser, a set of 4 plastic tumblers, a set of 2 "cocktail" themed hand towels and some festive cocktail napkins all for under $40!

I love the vintage inspired details on the drink dispenser and cups!  The towels are perfect for summer and great to have at a drink station while entertaining!

After I gathered all my items, I simply placed the items inside the drink dispenser...so easy and looks so cute!

 I finished it off with an oversized bow and it was all ready to go!

Not only is this a great gift for a birthday but it would also work great for a house warming party, hostess gift or wedding shower!   Wouldn't this be a fun item to receive?

Thank you, Home Goods, for sponsoring this post!

What's New Wednesday: {Our Front Porch}

Wednesday snuck up on me...the weeks seem to fly by the closer to summer we get!

Today I am sharing our front porch.  I am doing a little celebratory dance at the fact that my plants are still alive!  That is something "new" to me!

I kept it simple this year and planted an Asparagus Fern alongside some Rosemary in a cute, little galvanized bucket from Home Goods! It has rusted a little from the weather but I love the way it looks...the patina adds character!

I bought the iron plant stand several years ago at a flea market and every year I just buy a new fern to go in it.  Super easy and looks great!  They do well in partial shade and they grow fast!  I usually pay around $10 and they last well into the winter. I think the plants add so much character to the porch.

Our little bistro set is from Ikea...it reminded me of a set you would see at a French cafe.  You can see the patina on my Home Goods planter here....

A personalized doormat and faux boxwood wreath complete the look and create a welcoming front porch!

What is your "go to" plant for spring/summer?  I am always looking for new plants to try out!

Friday Finds: {Farmhouse Inspired Clocks}

Friday, I am so glad to see you...and I am so glad to see all of you stopping by!  Hope your week was wonderful!

Today, I am sharing some great "farmhouse" inspired clocks!  I get asked frequently about this clock in our game room:

...so I did some searching online and found it!  Make sure and read the review below if you are considering ordering it!  I also included some other fun options... (all sources are linked below the picture with corresponding number.)

Click on description for link:
  1. Galvanized Metal Wall Clock *See my review below
  2. Windmill Clock
  3. Gray Distressed Wall Clock
  4. Metal Open Face Clock
  Here is another option for #4 since it is out of stock:  Roman Numeral Open Face Clock

My review of clock #1:  I did see that it had a bad review but for what it is worth, I would buy this clock again and again!  The only minor issue we had was the metal not lying flat against the wall once we hung it.  We simply screwed the bottom of the clock into the wall and it was fixed!  It is a little bit of a pain to unscrew it when it needs to be reset, but that is a chore I am perfectly fine with.  A few people on Instagram have commented that they have the same clock and no one has had anything negative to say.  I just wanted to give an honest review incase you are thinking about ordering it!  I say go for it...you will love it!

***Update, some of these have sold out or are close to selling out since last night, so I will try and update with similar options as I find them!

Enjoy your weekend!

What's New Wednesday: {E-design Projects}

I thought I would check in and share a few projects I have been working on lately!  I usually do not share my e-design projects since I cannot share the sources due to contractual agreements but I had so much fun designing these rooms, I wanted to share!

Being the mom of two girls, I had a blast working with clients on their son's rooms!

This client is expecting a baby boy this summer.  She asked me if "modern vintage" was a style and something I could pull off and of course, I said yes!  She had some basic ideas of what she wanted, neutral with a pop of bright aqua, so I worked off that!  Here is what I came up with....

She told me she would send pictures of the finished project and I cannot wait!

The second client is a repeat client...I have had a blast working with her!  I designed her entryway and we have had the worst luck making this design happen in real life.  Everything was backordered...then when the bench arrived, it was broken!  Not good!  Hoping for her sake, everything will arrive quickly and in one piece soon!  Can't wait to show you pictures when this is completed.  Her house is gorgeous as is and this will be the icing on the cake!

I was thrilled when she asked me to design her son's room.  I had so much fun with this room and again, cannot wait to see it all pulled together.  After I sent the design board to her, she told me her son said it was "sic" so I guess that means I passed the test with him! Ha! While designing this space, I selected items that are "cool" now and that will be "cool" as he gets older!

I hope to get to share the end result in a few months!

Check back soon to see more of my projects!

Friday Finds: {Monogram Fireplace Screen}

Happy Friday!  A lot of you have asked about my monogrammed fireplace screen....

I bought it years ago from a vendor who only sells to the trade only (wholesale) but I did some searching and found the exact one...and one similar!  Now, these are not cheap, but it is something that lasts for years! As mentioned before, I bought mine wholesale but the price wasn't much less than what these are listed for.  Sometimes you have to splurge on big items!

What's New Wednesday: {Breakfast Nook}

Happy hump day!  Hope your week is going great!

If you follow me on Instagram then you have seen my latest Home Goods purchase.  If you don't follow me yet and would like to, you can click HERE

I did some shopping with a friend last week and picked up the large beaker "vase" shown below.  I am always the girl who goes for the things that most people walk right past!  I love items that are a little quirky and have interesting details...the things that make my husband give me the "what in the world is that" look!

I already had a smaller beaker vase that I picked up a few years ago but it already had a spot on my kitchen shelf and I didn't want to mess with moving it or having to  rearrange that area.  What's a girl to do?  Well, she goes back to HomeGoods the next day and picks up the smaller version of the big one she bought the day before!  It was a match made in Home Goods heaven!

I added some faux greenery sprigs to each of them and styled them on top of a vintage bread board....

I love the way the compliment the glass bottles on my breakfast nook shelves!

After finding those two, I walked into another Home Goods and found this smaller one...

I think it goes great on my branch table and I love the way the sun reflects through the glass!

What do you think of them?  Would you have bought them or would you have walked right past them?

Thanks for stopping by!  Check back Friday for this week's "Friday Finds" post!
