Vintage Vibes: {Bathroom Refresh}

If you have been following me for awhile, you know I love all things vintage.  I love mixing new pieces and old pieces in my designs to create a unique and interesting look.  Walmart's  Vintage Chic Collection is full of finds that will bring a touch of vintage charm to any space!

I selected a few items from the collection to crate a "boho-vintage"  vibe in this bathroom.  Just a few new pieces transformed this space into a soothing spa-like retreat...and I did it all on a small budget! 

I came across this 15 piece macrame shower curtain set for under $25 and knew it was the perfect fit for this space with it's neutral color and textured detail.  The macrame edge gives it the vintage vibe and the linen look fabric keeps it timeless.  

Also included in the set were two, textured bath mats and shower curtain rings!  I could not believe how inexpensive this set was and the items were such great quality!

To add some contrast to the space, I selected these super soft gray towels.  Walmart was a great selection of both patterned and solid towels in every color!  These were very reasonable and again, the quality is great!  For extra towel storage space and to add a unique touch, I came up with a fun way to display them....

All you need is a piece of twine or ribbon...

Next I grabbed some adorable accessories that could be used in different ways.  From bath bombs and soaps to q-tips and jewelry, it is always fun to use storage pieces that double as décor! These pieces definitely added to the vintage look I was going for!

Fall Decor Favs: {Shop now, decorate later!}

Our ten day forecast here is the Dallas area is showing only one day of being over 100 so I will take that as a good sign!  I know a lot of people have been decorating for fall, but with our weather, I just am not feeling it yet.  With that said, I cannot wait until we finally get some cooler weather and I can start making the house feel cozy!  I have rounded up a ton of decor that will be perfect when those cool days arrive!  Just click on the image to be taken to the retailer's website via my affiliate link! Cozy Bedroom Refresh: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

This month, we were given the fun task to create a space filled with fun finds, from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart, that sparked a little joy! Their product line truly has something for everyone no matter what style you are drawn to!  I took this as an opportunity to give my daughter's room at her dad's house a fresh new look.  Nothing sparks joy for me more than creating beautiful spaces for my family to enjoy!

Some of you might recall that they faced some trying times last year when a lightening strike caused their home to catch on fire.  My youngest daughter was sleeping in the room where the fire started and luckily woke up to alert her father.  Everyone got out safely but the fire caused a lot of damage.  Fast forward to almost a year later, they are now back in their home and we are grateful to put it behind us! These images are hard to look at but we are so thankful everyone made it out okay....

Since that was the room that had the most damage, I decided it deserved a little refresh!  While it had been totally rebuilt after the fire, had a fresh coat of paint on the walls and great furniture pieces, it  needed the "fluff and fun stuff" to make it feel cozy and welcoming!  That is where the Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart goodies came into play!

I added beautiful bedding, textured throw pillows and a few new decor pieces to give this room a quick refresh.  The final result was a room with a soothing and serene vibe!

For the bedding, I selected this pretty Better Homes & Gardens ruffle edge duvet set.  It comes in three colors and the price was so reasonable!  To add some interest, I paired it with this embroidered quilt and matching shams. I love mixing bedding sets because there are so many ways to style it when you are craving a new look!

Throw pillows are a great way to tie everything together while adding a touch of texture. These faux fur throw pillows and this macrame throw pillow completed the look perfectly!

The next step was to accessories.  I found this rustic wood lamp base and gray tweed lamp shade and knew they would compliment my vintage finds perfectly.  Lamp lighting is a great way to add ambiance to a space and is great for those late nights when you want to curl up with a good book!

Speaking of ambiance, candles are another way to create a warm and inviting feel. This galvanized hurricane candle holder was under $10 and can also be used to hold fresh flowers!  I love selecting decor pieces that can be used in different ways.  If you prefer flameless candles, these LED battery operated candles are a great option!

Above the bed, I created a fun vignette using three galvanized wall pockets.  These are perfect to style with seasonal stems! I cannot wait to change them up for fall and winter...bring on the cotton stems and evergreen sprigs!

This galvanized tray is another item I came across and knew would be great in this room. Though it might not always be styled as seen here, it can be used in so many ways...if nothing else, it will be great to hold snacks and drinks while snuggling up to watch TV.

From the cozy bedding to the cute decor, creating this space brought me so much joy! I know my daughter will love coming home to her very own relaxing retreat!

Pillow Palooza: {Pillows under $25}

One of the most common questions I get on social media is, "Where did you get your pillows"....

Pillows are such a an easy and inexpensive way to update a room and can instantly change the feel of the room.  Since my color scheme in my home is all neutral, I love using pillows that have texture! They help make the room feel cozy and add interest to the space! I tend to switch mine out with each new season for a fresh update that doesn't break the bank!

Most of the pillows I have in my home currently are from different retailers that I found in store and have owned for awhile.  Since I get asked about them so often, I decided to round up a huge selection of pillows (a few are just covers) for you today!  The great thing about these is that they are all under $25!!
