Touches of Fall: {Office Refresh}

Today I am excited to be partnering with Walmart for this post.  All opinions are my own.  I love working with retailers who provide quality products at affordable prices and Walmart does just that! As always, thanks for stopping by and supporting this little blog of mine!

With the arrival of each new season, I love making small changes in my home that will result in a big impact.  For me, fall is a time to fill your home with cozy blankets, oversized pillows, seasonal touches, yummy smelling candles and of course, friends and family! I want my home to feel warm and inviting the minute someone steps inside!  With my office being the first room you see when you walk in my front door, I decided the little reading nook area would be a great place for a few fall updates.  It is amazing how just switching up a few things can make the room feel completely refreshed!

I shopped my home for most of the items I used but did grab some goodies from Walmart's Fall Harvest Collection to finish off the space!  They have such a great variety of items to fit everyone's style and their prices are almost too good to be true!

Throw pillows and throw blankets are both great, inexpensive items to switch out seasonally.  I found a large variety of both at Walmart and have linked some of my favorites towards the end of the post.  For my space, I decided these gray colorblock pillows complimented the woven pillows I already owned!

I always have throw blankets easily accessible no matter what season it is...{because I am always cold}...but I grabbed a few new ones because you can never have too many throws and they were so affordable!

I kept the décor simple in this space but did add a few seasonal touches.  A few new additions to this room are the black, metal lanterns, the black and gold metal tray and the black and gold task lamp. Do you see a theme?  I love the contrast of the black against the lighter gray tones in this space!

I shopped my house for all the other items used here.  It's always so fun to mix and match new pieces with décor you already own for a fresh, new look!

Loving the new updated look!  Now I am ready to have a friend over for coffee and conversation!

Early Fall Entryway: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

This post is sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart!  I am so excited to be a part of the BHG Live Better influencer network and look forward to sharing ideas, updates to my home and their affordable products with you! All opinions are my own.

Fall weather hasn't quite arrived in the Dallas area just yet, but if I waited for the weather to dictate when it was okay to break out the pumpkins, it might be close to Christmas!  So, with that said, it was time to add a few touches of fall to my entryway despite our summer like temps!  Since I am a neutral loving gal and do not use the typical colors of fall, I decided a touch of metallic gold would be a fun way to jazz up my typical neutral scheme!

I found some great stuff from the Better Homes & Gardens line available at Walmart!

Let's take a look at what this space looked like before...I love what I had here but it was time for a new look.  Don't worry, though, I did not get rid of any of these pieces and you will see them again!

And now  for the new look....

You may notice that I changed furniture in this space!  I am constantly switching things up and when I saw this cute bench, I knew it would be perfect in this space. It was around $100 and super easy to put together.  I really liked that it came with a gray cushion and the metal construction makes it extremely sturdy!  Bonus points...it can also be used outside!

To add some texture and a touch of coziness, I added these beautiful, textured throw pillows and a cozy, striped throw blanket.  If you have followed me for awhile, you know I am a sucker for fringe!  These pillows are under $20...a total steal!  The striped throw is a great deal as well.  Since my space is so neutral, I love how the stripes add interest!

Subtle metallic touches were added using items like this gold framed mirror.  I love how the shape breaks up all the angles in this room and the subtle gold frame adds some shimmer to my neutrals.  I simply layered a cotton wreath on top of the mirror for a seasonal touch!

These black, metal baskets were the perfect way to add storage space under the bench...or in this case, a unexpected place for more touches of fall! The metallic gold handles tie in nicely with the mirror!

Another pop of gold was brought in by adding this darling Edison bulb lamp.  The marble base gives it a modern vibe while the gold cage top adds a vintage, industrial feel.  I love mixing vintage items with new items so it was a perfect fit!

I love the way this little entryway nook turned out and the touches of metallic are perfect for fall!

Since my staircase landing is also visible from my entryway, I decided to continue the metallic touches up the stairs....

This pretty, metallic gold lantern is perfect to style with seasonal touches.  For now it holds tiny white pumpkins but it will be easy to transition it for Christmas!  Pinecones, candles, ornaments, bottle brush trees...so many options!  I love pieces like this that can be switched up for every season!

Speaking of lanterns...I couldn't resist these modern, hanging lanterns!  When I saw them, I knew they would be perfect hanging from my vintage mechanic's rack!  Another mix of modern and vintage!  These lantern are another item that I can be easily updated for each season!

Just a few simple touches and my entryway is ready for fall!  Now if we could just get some cool fall weather, we would be all set!

What colors do you typically use for fall decor?  Do you prefer more traditional fall colors or do you like to add colors that compliment your existing color scheme?
