Being at home these past few months had me craving a little bit of change. One of my favorite things to do in spring is to update my rooms with a fresh new look.  I wanted to add a little color to liven up my neutral spaces but didn't want to go crazy.  I  decided to add a few touches here and there for a new look and found everything I needed from the Better Homes & Gardens line, sold exclusively at Walmart.  I love their line because they have such great, quality products and their prices are so reasonable.  The best part is you can shop from home because they have such a great selection online! 

I've always loved blush pink. It reminds me of spring and summer and is easy to mix in with neutrals.  I also love the contrast of pink and grays so it was the perfect color to use in my home.  

First up, I selected a few things to switch to my living room.  Just by adding in new throw pillows and a cozy throw blanket, I achieved a fresh new look.  I say it all the time, but throw pillows are such an affordable way to get a new look without spending a ton of money!

I love the texture these pillows add to the room and the tassels add a fun touch.  The color is the perfect shade of  blush and exactly what I had been searching for.  They are so affordable and such great quality!  The trellis design pairs well with the striped pillows I already owned.

To keep the room balanced, I added a blush pink, Aztec print throw blanket over in my reading nook area.  Super soft, cozy and stylish...the perfect affordable find to bring in more color to this room!

Speaking of cozy and stylish, I also added a faux fur pillow to this chair on the other side of the room.  I love the hint of color it adds without being the exact same shade as the other pillows.  This pillow comes in lots of fun colors and is very affordable!  The Better Homes & Gardens line has so many great pillow options!

A few pops of color made a huge difference!

Next up was the dining area...I used a collection of decorative vases from the Better Homes & Gardens line to bring in a sprinkle of color to my dining room.  I love these because they can be used just about anywhere in my home...together or separate....with or without flowers or faux stems...the possibilities are endless!

Probably the easiest decorating I have ever done was arranging the collection of vases on my dining table...but look at how great they look!  The colors and textures add so much to this space.  They totally brightened up this area and work so well with the items I added to the living room.  When the time comes to entertain again, I can add fresh flowers to create a beautiful, but super easy, centerpiece! 

Can you spy something else that is new?  This purchase was a little bit of an impulse buy...being stuck at home for the past few months makes you do these things!  

If you guessed new barstools then you are right!  I came across these while I was online shopping and really loved how well they went with my Better Homes & Gardens dining chairs!  Once I saw the price, I was sold!

These stools are such great quality and so affordable!  They are pretty heavy as well so if you have little ones at home, I would recommend these...they are so sturdy!  I love the way they tie in the dining room to the kitchen now!

And since I was on a blush pink theme...I also ordered these adorable bowls.  My plan was to use them on my open shelves, but I loved having them displayed on my island so that is where they are for now.  Small touches go a long way....

And of course I had to add pink, iced sugar cookies...for décor purposed only (or maybe not)! 

So that is a little spring décor update from here!  I was pleasantly surprised at what a huge impact adding just a few touches here and there made! Functional and Stylish Entryway Makeover on a Budget: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

I don't know about you, but I always love a good before and after, especially when the after look was completed on a tight budget of under $300! Take a look at this fun entryway makeover I recently completed. 

The before...a clean slate to work with.  We needed to dress it up while keeping it functional.

Since this area is the first space you see when you walk in the front door, I wanted to keep it simple and clean but I also wanted it to feel warm and welcoming.  I cam across this awesome hall tree from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Walmart and knew it was the perfect piece for this space!  I love the mixed materials of weathered wood and metal. 

Added storage is always nice but with this piece there is no sacrificing style for functionality, it gives you both!

In order to cozy up the entry and define the space in this open area, I added this beautiful geometric, shag rug from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  I love the texture it adds to the area and the light color brightens up the space.  It was so inexpensive and the quality is great!

To add some interest, I used a few throw pillows, a few lanterns and a potted plant.  Simple touches made a huge impact and gave it a finished look!  All items were very affordable!

I absolutely love the faux leather throw pillow.  It adds in a new texture and pairs well with the industrial look.  The soft, Sherpa throw pillow keeps things cozy and warm!  I always have the best luck finding inexpensive, but stylish, throw pillows from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart!

To add a little ambiance to the space, I used two large candle lanterns from the Better Homes & Gardens line.  Although we wanted the space to give a sleek, modern feel, the candles make it feel warm and welcoming when you walk in.  To add another soft glow, I added an industrial rope light I already owned.  All pieces are very simple in design and the metal ties in well with the hall tree!

For functionality, I used a wood crate, from the Better Homes & Gardens line, paired with a vintage locker basket.  These are great for storage and keep things looking tidy!

Boredom Busters-Favorite Games

It is starting to feel like spring here in Texas! Of course, if you live here then you know that doesn't mean a lot...winter weather could still be showing up unannounced and uninvited anytime but I decided to take my chances and start getting my patio ready for the new season!  With the help of the Better Homes & Gardens line, available at Walmart, I did a quick and budget friendly patio refresh and cannot wait to spend time enjoying my updated space!  Their line of patio furniture, décor and accessories is fabulous this year!  Make sure and shop quickly because their stuff always sells out quick! 

If you have followed me for awhile, you know I am a huge believer in using what you have first, then buy a few new items for a quick update.  I already had these wicker patio chairs from last year.  My mom wasn't using them anymore so I happily took them off her hands.  They were a brown finish and a little sun bleached, so a can of gray spray paint gave them a whole new look!  A few weeks ago, I grabbed some new cushions and throw pillows from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart and now we have a perfect little place to relax outside!  

The cushions are so comfy and can easily be washed just by spraying them down.  The cute throw pillows are reversible, but I prefer the striped side!  I have owned my outdoor rug for years, but I wanted to share this adorable striped on in case you are in the market for a new, outdoor rug...

I also picked up a few of these pretty lanterns.  I love that they came with a battery operated candle that flickers to give it a real look!  It is so pretty and crates a cozy ambiance in the evenings!

It is amazing how updated this space now looks...just a few new items made such a difference!

On the other end of my small patio, I created a cute dining area using stylish bistro chairs and a simple dining table from the Better Homes & Gardens line from Walmart.  All items were so budget friendly and I really like that the table folds up for storage.  I love having 2 separate areas to utilize.  I can easily move things around if I need to!  This just goes to show you that you do not have to have a huge space to create a functional and welcoming place to enjoy!

A little room refresh was definitely in order for my tween daughter.  She has had the same bedding for several years and while it was adorable, she was ready for something a little more trendy and fun! While we decided we would wait until this summer to do a full room makeover, we got a head start on part of the room with this fun refresh!  We kept this project to a budget of $300 and were able to make a huge impact with the changes we made!  We selected items from the Better Homes & Gardens line, available at Walmart, and were pleasantly surprised at how many new goodies we could grab due to the affordable prices! 

Welcome to my daughter's boho inspired oasis...it turned out so perfect for her...stylish, cozy, serene...a perfect room fit for a tween!

New bedding was a great way to make a huge impact for a small price!  The textured duvet set was our starting point.  Not only is the duvet super cozy, but the pattern keeps things interesting and brought in that boho feel we were going for.  I love that this set will grow with her through the years and we can change it up easily with different throw pillows and sheets!  Neutral bedding is always my go to choice since it is so versatile!

The colorful, shag pillows were perfect to pair with the bedding.  They bring in a splash of color and tons of texture to this space.  The more texture, the cozier the room feels! The Better Homes & Gardens line has so many amazing throw pillows and these didn't disappoint! At under $20, they were also budget friendly! 

Just to add a little more interest to the room, we grabbed these cute diamond print sheets.  The pattern and color are subtle, but they add just a little pizazz to the room.  The color also tied in great with my daughter's gold antique bed! These sheets are so soft and come in several different colors and patterns.

Once we had the bedding picked out, we were on the hunt for the perfect nightstand.  The Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart has so many affordable furniture options so I knew we would find something stylish and budget friendly.  I was blown away to find this modern, faux marble and gold side table on sale for under $50.  The gold base compliments her gold bed and the marble top was perfect for the trendy look we were going for.  I know this piece will be something that will also grow with her for years to come!

A few fun accessories were all we needed to style the new nightstand with.  Luckily, we already had the perfect task lamp so we got to spend pat of the budget on the fun stuff. My llama loving girl was so excited about the adorable llama planter...her most favorite find from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart!  We also picked up this cute, faux plant...a little greenery is always good in any space!

To finish off the refresh, we added the beautiful, ruffle curtain to create a cozy reading nook!  It is now the perfect space to relax in with a good book and a cozy throw blanket!

We are thrilled with the way our little room refresh turned out!  For under $300, we accomplished a whole new look in this space.  Mixing in items you already have with a few new pieces is a great way to update the space without spending a ton!

Are you wanting to refresh a space in your home?  Here are some simple ways to do so without spending a ton of money:

1. Switch out throw pillows.  This is a really inexpensive way to achieve a fresh look.  I love using textured throw pillows to bring in a cozy feel.  You can mix and match prints and materials to keep the space interesting. 2.  Add a new area rug.  Rugs are a great way to bring in a new pattern, new color or transform the style of the space.  Here are some fun choices for every style: 

3. Swap out or add a new furniture piece.  You can always rotate existing furniture pieces to new rooms in your home for a quick refresh or bring in one new piece to really make an impact. Maybe a new coffee table or dining table...a new bookshelf or console...a new headboard or nightstand....one piece can make a big difference.  Adding the modern nightstand/side table in my daughter's room really changed up the space from "little girl" to "tween".
