We are in full on fall mode over here and have been having a blast doing some DIY projects! From adorable fabric pumpkins and scary spider wreaths to spooky, salty and sweet snacks, I am sharing some fun and easy DIY projects that will surely get you in the Halloween spirit! Let's get started...
DIY Fabric Pumpkins:
Supplies: Fabric, Poly-fill, scissors, circle pattern, sharpie, rubber bands, lunch baggies, dried beans (rice, pebbles or sand works as well), driftwood for stem (branches, cinnamon sticks, scrap wood pieces work as well).
Amount I spent: $30 on fabric but I have a ton left over for other projects and I also bought 3 different fabrics so I would have a variety of pumpkins. I picked up some dried beans, poly-fill and rubber bands for under $14. Shop your house before you purchase anything, you might be surprised at what you find!
Directions:
-Trace circle onto back of fabric and then cut it out....doesn't have to be perfect. I used a plastic plate as a pattern.
-Place dried beans, pebbles, rice or whatever you want to use in a plastic baggie in the center of the circle.
-Layer stuffing in the bag and place stem in center. Add a rubber band to the stem:
Tuck fabric into the rubber band all the way around. Once done, you can mess with it to get it the way you want it.
All done! So easy to make and they look cute just about anywhere!
I love the fabric I used from the Better Homes & Gardens fabric line, they have so many prints! Cannot wait to make more with the black fabric!

My next super easy DIY project took less than 3 minutes to complete and turned out adorable! You just need a dried wreath and some plastic spider rings. I used this festive dried wheat wreath from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart for my project and it turned out perfect!
DIY Spooky Spider Wreath:
Supplies: Dried wreath ($19.98) and plastic spider rings (.98)
All you have to do is take the rings and "hook" them onto the wreath in various places. The rings are split so it makes it so easy. The end result looks like little spiders are crawling all over the wreath. And the best part....when Halloween is over, you can easily remove the spiders and keep the wreath up for the rest of the fall season!

I absolutely love the way it turned out and how it completes my "spooky' Halloween porch!
Both of those DIYs are super simple and a fun activity the kids can participate in, too!
Now onto the yummy part...
My daughter hosts a little Halloween soiree every year so I wanted to come up with a super fun and oh-so-spooky snack station. I decided my dining room area needed a snazzy bar cart, so I ordered this pretty gold and glass one from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart. I know we will use this often and I cannot wait to transform it with each season...spooky snacks for now, then I will transform to a hot chocolate station around the holidays! Possibilities are endless for bar carts!

I filled the bar cart with some super simple, spooky snacks. They are all so easy to create!
Cup of Dirt:

I used these hammered metal bowls to create a cup-of-dirt in. I feel like they look like they look "Halloween-ish" with the rustic finish. These, of course, can be used for so many other things when we are finished with them. Just add pudding, Oreo crumbles and creepy crawly candy of choice for an easy snack that is sure to be a crowd pleaser! Bowls were under $3.00 and food items under $8!
Skeleton Char-Spook-erie Board:
So easy to make...use marshmallows to outline your skeleton head, eyes, nose, mouth and fill with candy. Fill in with white cheddar popcorn or snacks of your choice!

Hammered Circle Tray (under $20) + White Cheddar Popcorn, marshmallows + chocolate yummies = a fabulous sweet and salty treat (food under $8). So easy to make and looks adorable...until this little goblins eat it all up!
Another Better Homes & Gardens find was used to serve the rest of the snacks. I love this tray because you can move the white serving trays around and it keeps food separate. For a festive touch, I added spider rings. Love the way it turned out!

On the lower level of my new bar cart, I used another awesome serving piece to hold cookies. This acrylic cake stand (under $20) can be turned over to use as a chips and dips tray! I love multi-use serving pieces!
Our spooky snack bar is all ready for the party!

Another quick project I completed was putting together a super simple tablescape. Plastic bats (package of 100 for $7) adorn a pretty black lantern ($18) for a subtle touch of Halloween. I used the fabric pumpkins I made to bring in a whimsical feel and candy adds some spooky flair! I love the new table runner (under $13) I got and will likely use it all year long! All really simple items that can be used in other ways when Halloween is over!
