Whimsical Winter Wonderland: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

I am so excited to have been named a Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker for 2019-2020! This means I get to share my favorite products from the Better Homes & Gardens line available at Walmart  in a sponsored post each month!  All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate link to Walmart.  When you make a purchase from a link, I am rewarded with a small commission paid by them. Thank you for your continued support!

My first Christmas post of 2019.  Thanks for being here! It might be a tad early for some of you, but I like to get started as soon as I can so I can enjoy the décor for as long as I can!  I can totally enjoy Thanksgiving dinner paired with a side of Christmas décor! My motto is "do what makes you happy" and "fully decked halls" make me happy!

There is just something so comforting about being in a home filled with twinkle lights, décor that has been collected over the years, the yummy aroma from a candle filling the air, a cheesy holiday movie on TV and the sound of a crackling fireplace nearby!  This year while decorating, I used items I already had, but I did pick up a few new finds to throw into the mix!  The best part, all the products are from the Better Homes & Gardens line from Walmart so not only are they great quality, but I still have money left over for Christmas shopping! I am so excited to have these spaces decorated and cannot wait to enjoy my home with friends and family!

Come on in...

First stop: The Kitchen

While browsing the aisles at Walmart, I always find myself stopping on the candle aisle. I cannot go into Walmart without stopping to sniff all the scents!  The Better Homes & Gardens line has amazing candles and they are so inexpensive.  This one instantly reminded me of the holidays...Smoked Caramel Fireside...it is the perfect blend of sweet and woodsy.  For me, it just reminded me of sitting next to a fireplace, sipping coffee and while snacking on something sweet. It reminded me of baking goodies in the kitchen to share with family and friends while the glow of the fireplace and twinkle lights illuminate the living room. It also matched my house really well and we all know that is something you always consider when buying a candle!  Right? It has to match!

While I didn't add a ton of Christmas décor to the kitchen, a few little touches add some festive flair!  My kitchen is all ready for holiday baking...

Did you spy my new canisters?  I absolutely love them! The hobnail style brings in a vintage feel while the wood and brass lid gives it a modern, rustic vibe.  They are perfect for my neutral  kitchen and so inexpensive!

The coordinating cook book stand is another new addition.  I love the mixed materials and how it could really work with any style!  Even if you don't cook, these make for great decor...just add a cute cookbook! Doesn't that cake look amazing...adding it to my "to bake" list!

I also grabbed this double duty cake stand!  I did not realize it could be flipped over and used as a chips and dips tray until I got home and read the tag!  How cool is that?!  I love pieces that you can get a ton of use out of!  Of course, it is great for a cake, but you can use these in so many different ways!  Here I just used it to create a sweet holiday vignette for my small kitchen island.  Don't worry, there is still plenty of room to sit and enjoy a sweet, holiday treat...or 2!

I created this vintage inspired centerpiece by using pieces I already had paired with a few new finds from the Better Homes & Gardens line at  Walmart!

I was so excited to come across both the beautiful glass tree and the dainty, gray glass candle holders.  They look like they came from an antique store!  Just my style!  My grandparent's antique silver tray was the perfect item to use for this centerpiece!  I love the way it came together!

This small vignette makes a huge impact, especially when using a fun mix of new and old items!

Final stop: The Family Room

This room is full of my favorite décor pieces that I have collected over the years!  It is always so much fun to get out the storage boxes and go through all my Christmas décor!  I always try to switch up décor each year and use it in different ways or styled with different items for a fresh look!

I thought this galvanized house lantern was so charming and knew it would look perfect on my coffee table!  I already had a similar lantern that I used last year, but this one was a better size for my coffee table!  I guess you could say I am now collecting house lanterns!  I also have the black version in my guest bedroom!  They are just so cute!

You might also notice that I used the same glass tree and candle holders in this space as well!  I love thinking outside the box when decorating so I had some fun with my bottle brush trees!  Who says candle sticks have to be used for candles?!

And since my favorite spot in the house happens to be the chair closest to my tree, I grabbed this super soft throw and a few cozy throw pillows to make it even more comfy. I couldn't resist the whimsical, wintery pattern on the blanket!  Isn't it adorable?
