It is officially patio weather in the Dallas area!  Texas weather can be tricky...we do not get much of a spring before it gets hot...so we are enjoying it while we can.  The mornings are still a tad chilly, it warms up during the day and the evenings can be either one...you just never know.  Today I am sharing some great products I added in order to get this space ready for entertaining so we can enjoy the outdoors before it's too hot!

Can you spot the new additions?

First up was a little DIY project...and by "Y", I mean WTHOBHGAW..."with the help of Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart".  The original plan was to build wood planters to add to the DIY rock beds created last month, but when I came across these at such a great price, it just made sense to go this route.  Better Homes & Gardens made this project so much easier for me! The quality of these raised beds is amazing and I love the way they look!  I picked up some beautiful  flowers from Better Homes & Gardens line and some soil made specifically for raised beds...all at Walmart.  It didn't take long to get everything planted.

All done and so pretty! These "DIY" raised flower beds made such an impact on this space!  The gorgeous flowers pop against the black and white color scheme and add so much to the space.  I love how the planters make the patio feel separated from the rest of the yard. Now the patio feels like a cozy, outdoor room.

I highly recommend these!  They are so easy to maintain and look amazing!

Make sure to stop into the garden section next time you are at Walmart.  The Better Homes & Gardens brand has lots gorgeous plants, hanging baskets, planters and flowers to add to your outdoor spaces!

Can't wait for the flowers to grow, it is going to be so pretty!

Once that was done, just a few thins were added to get the space ready for family and friends to enjoy. For additional seating, two new poufs were added.  You can never have too many seating options and these can be easily moved around as needed!  I love how the modern pattern ties into the throw pillows and rug.

They're great to put your yummy breakfast on when you want to dine outside!

Another new addition, this awesome fire pit.  I can see lots of nights spent around the fire pit with family and friends...bring on the s'mores!

Look how cozy and inviting it looks now with the fire pit and lights!

If you plan on entertaining this spring, check out the new serving pieces from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  They have everything you need!  I absolutely love these rattan pieces I found.

These products are great to use indoors or out!

And their plastic tumblers and wine glasses are perfect for the outdoors.  No need to use the breakable stuff! Cheers!

Affordable Patio Refresh: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

As a Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker, I am honored to work with their amazing brand sharing their stylish and affordable line of home products available at Walmart! As always, any product reviews or opinions are honest feedback from my personal experience.  This post contains affiliate links to Walmart, which means the brand rewards me with a small commission for any sale resulting from a link click through from my blog.  I am excited to share my March project with you today!

After the crazy week of winter weather we saw in February, we are finally welcoming "patio weather" here in the Dallas area. This month's project was to prep the patio since it will be getting a lot of use.  This was such a fun project to complete and I love the resort feel created out here...

The love seat and chairs were purchased several years ago and are still in a good shape, so they stayed put.  I purchased several new items from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart to give the area a fresh new update.  I couldn't be more pleased with how it all came together! Since the outdoor furniture was purchased several years ago, I wanted to share this awesome set for those in the market for one...

The first thing on my list to source was a rug.  I love the way the rug defines the sitting area while adding texture.  This cabana stripe rug was perfect for this space...classic pattern, great quality and awesome price.  The black and white stripe design adds so much interest to the backyard!

Additional seating was needed in this space and these comfy rocking chairs were the perfect fit.  These come in 3 colors and the design makes them work with any style.  I love the modern vibe they add.  This is definitely my daughter's favorite spot.

Eventually a fire pit will be added to this area, but for now, these outdoor poufs are perfect for acting as a coffee table or propping up your feet.  My daughter likes to use these with the rocking chairs. They are so easy to move around and use where they are needed.

Those outdoor poufs are an in store only purchase, but these are a great option I found online...

To update the existing furniture, I grabbed some new outdoor pillows from the Better Homes & Gardens line.  I love the texture they add.  These are so durable and the prices are so reasonable.  I always find the best pillows from their line.

I finished off the patio refresh with a few accessories.  Every patio needs a fern and every fern needs a fun planter.  This year's planter collection from the Better Homes & Gardens line is the best I have seen.  I fell in love with this simple white planter with wood stand.  If you need planters, make sure to check theirs out!

To add some ambiance to the space, I love using lanterns.  This white lantern came ready to go with an LED, battery operated candle.  It flickers when on and looks like a real candle.  It looks so pretty at night.

On the other side of the couch, I used another lantern but this time I added some battery operated fairy lights.  It adds a pretty glow to this side of the couch.  I cannot wait to add more plants and more lanterns to the space soon!

And last, a patio isn't complete without string lights.  They just add a magical touch!  These were very easy to install and give off just enough light!  It is amazing what a difference these made!

I just love the way this patio refresh turned out.  I was able to complete this project without spending a fortune, thanks to the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  I see lots of family time being spent here! Simple Kitchen Makeover: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

I am excited to share my February project with you today!

Who doesn't love a good before and after?  With just a few, easy changes, I gave this kitchen a fun update!  The kitchen is the heart of the home.  Have you ever noticed how people congregate in the kitchen at gatherings even though there is a whole house to utilize?  I love how this kitchen is so open to the rest of the house with the living room on the other side of the island and the breakfast area nearby.  There was nothing wrong with it to begin with, but we wanted to transform it so it flowed better with the rest of the house. I went to work using  products from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart and the end result turned out amazing!

Here is the before...nothing wrong with it per se, we just wanted to update things and make it feel more inviting!

The most impactful change I made was swapping the outdated lighting.  I selected these awesome globe pendants from the Better Homes and Gardens line.  The clear glass globes were a great fit and give a space a more modern and airy vibe.  At under $25/each (including the bulbs), these were too good to pass up!

To bring in some interest and character, I accessorized the space using wood tones and textures.  Plants are a great way to add a organic, natural feel and look great in any space. Wood tones, textured planters and a few other touches finished off the look without overdoing it.

This beautiful, wood bowl would be great to store fruit in, but if you are like me and want something unique...just add a glass bottle and seasonal stems for a fun display!

Keeping with the wood theme, I used a Acacia wood dough bowl to corral cooking necessities.  Such a simple way to keep things visually appealing on countertops.

To balance out the look, this wood slice tray was perfect to use for a little coffee station.

To update the breakfast nook, I selected new chairs, a new rug and a new light from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart to create an updated, modern look.  Check out the before....

And the after....

Such an upgrade!  I love the sleek modern look of this area now! The new, modern farmhouse style chandelier was made for this space!  I love the unique shape and the Edison bulbs add in a nice, industrial feel!  These bulbs are included with the chandelier...a major bonus!

When I saw these chairs, I knew they would be a great option to pair with the existing table.  They are such great quality and super simple to put together.  If gray isn't your color, they also come in more colors!

On the table, I came up with a fun tablescape to add some personality to this area.  As mentioned earlier, I love using live plants as decor and when I found the terrazzo planter, I knew it would look great here! The design adds so much texture.

Speaking of texture, how great is this trellis shag rug?  Since this space is so open to the kitchen and living area, I wanted to use the rug to define the dining area.  The subtle pattern and colors create a nice contrast with the wood floors.  You won't believe how inexpensive this rug is, especially since it is such good quality!  Linked below...

This makeover was so much fun to complete.  I couldn't be more pleased with the end result!
