As the weather finally cools down, I get more excited about spending time outside.  For this month's Better Homes & Garden's project, I traveled to my parent's house and prepped their outdoor spaces for fall entertaining!

It is now ready for all the outdoor fall festivities thanks to all the great items I found from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart!

I used some existing furniture with a few new items for a fresh, new look.  These metal dining chairs pair well with their existing round  table and were so reasonably priced!  I have a feeling this space will be used frequently.

I also grabbed some entertaining necessities.  I love this 2 tier stand for serving snacks.  Better Homes & Gardens has such a great selection of serving pieces at great prices.  The shatterproof, stemless wine glasses were also a must!  Outdoor happy hour season has begun!

Such a relaxing spot to unwind after a long day!

Moving on to the "lounge" area of the backyard, I just did a quick refresh with new cushions and a few new accessories!  I think this is the perfect area to sip coffee in the morning or snuggle up with a warm drink in the evenings.  They have plans to add a firepit to this area so it will be extra cozy for those cool fall nights!

These black and white cushions and pillows were perfect with the gray wicker furniture.  I love how the contrast of the black and white adds interest to the space.  Both are reversible...an added bonus when you want to switch up the look.

Also, don't forget the blankets to curl up with on those chilly nights!

I added this cute plant stand to use as a side table for drinks.  It was a steal at just $13 and can be moved around to use anywhere needed.

To finish off this area, I brought in some pretty lanterns and gorgeous plants. Make sure to check out all the beautiful Better Homes and Garden's plants in the garden section of you local store.  We cannot wait to add more plants to this area!

Flameless candles add the perfect glow to this space and create a such a pretty ambiance!

Back to the Grind: {Sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens)

As a Better Homes & Gardens Stylemaker, I am honored to work with their amazing brand sharing their stylish and affordable line of home products available at Walmart! As always, any product reviews or opinions are honest feedback from my personal experience.  This post contains affiliate links to Walmart, which means the brand rewards me with a small commission for any sale resulting from a link click through from my blog.  I am excited to share my August project with you today!

With fall around the corner and the kids heading back to school, it is time for a routine again.  I am one of those people who loves a routine. The summer months are nice but I am always ready to get back to a schedule once August rolls around!  Check back in a few weeks to see if I still feel that way!

For this month's project, I did a little update to this home gym!  This room is in my ex-husband's home, but I have access to it whenever I want to workout! Something I am wanting to concentrate on is making an effort to spend more time really taking care of me!  With the hustle and bustle of school, sports and other activities starting, sometimes it is hard to carve out time for yourself, but it is so important.  With a few changes made to this space, it now has a spa like feel...clean, organized, bright and welcoming.  It is a room that I would love to spend more time in.  All the items I added are from the Better Homes & Gardens line available at Walmart.  I love their affordable and quality products!

Come on in....

First up was adding this much needed storage unit.  It is nice to have everything you need within reach in an organized way.  This unit worked perfectly under the TV and keeps everything nice and tidy.

It was really easy to assemble and looks great in this space!

I love the modern design it adds to the room.  It is very affordable and comes in other finishes!  This piece could be used in so many different spaces!

Decorative bins were added to hold items like resistance bands, foam rollers and other gym necessities.  The woven design with wood handles look perfect in this space and add a decorative touch.

A great solution to "hiding" things out of view!

I also added this drink dispenser.  Water is a must throughout the day, but especially during a workout!  The fact you can add in items to add taste to the water is a bonus and adds to the spa like feel!  This is very heavy duty and works great in this space.  It will also be used when entertaining!

Just add in cucumber, limes, lemons...or anything you want!  I find I drink more water when it is so close by and has a little splash of taste!

Nuglass tumblers available in store.

After a good workout, having towels close by is a necessity!  I picked up these super soft towels from the Better Homes and Gardens line at Walmart.  They come in a wide variety of colors and are so plush!  I love a good quality towel and these fit the bill!

To add to the zen feel of the room, a few faux plants were added.  I think every room needs a touch of nature...and the fact these do not require water is an added bonus! Ha! These look so real in person!

Another must have item was a large, full length mirror.  I created a free weight "station" in this corner.  It is important to watch your form when lifting weights so this mirror is very handy.  I love the sleek, modern design of this mirror and the size is perfect!

For convenience, I placed a hamper in this area for used towels.  It makes it easy to take back and forth to the laundry room.

The last thing that was needed was an area rug.  It protects the floors from the heavy equipment and keeps everything in place.  I selected this trellis print indoor/outdoor rug to dress up the room.  I love how the pattern adds interest to the space.  The fact that it can literally be taken outside and hosed down is a huge plus!  Since it is an outdoor rug, it is a thin weave and works great in here!

Now that the home gym got an upgrade, it is time to get busy!!  Do you enjoy working out at home?  I would love to hear more about your workout routine!

If you have a project you need to complete now that the kids are going back to school....an organization project, a room update, a study nook for the kids, etc.....make sure to check out the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart!  They have everything you need to make life a little easier!  Wishing you and your kids a wonderful school year!

The Bachelor Pad Living Room Edition: {Sponsored by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

I am excited to share my July project with you today!

I've said it a million times but I am going to say it again...paint changes everything!  Paint is a great way to change a space with little effort and very little cost.  It makes a huge impact in a space, whether you are painting an entire room, an accent wall, doors, cabinets or even a piece of furniture.  You can go BOLD or subtle...and either way, you have a whole new look.  If you haven't checked out  Better Homes & Gardens Paint Line , do so now...you won't be disappointed in the wide variety of colors and excellent quality of paint. I love that it is also low odor and zero POV, both important things to consider when shopping paint brands.

I have been helping my ex-husband make some changes to his home.  We started in the kitchen area and are now making changes in the living room.  We decided to use the Better Homes and Gardens Charcoal Whisp paint to make a dramatic statement in his living area and he loves the way it turned out...so much so that he decided to use the color on his kitchen island. I will share that soon!

Here is the before:

And the after:

Such a huge difference!  I love the way the dark adds a coziness to the space without being overbearing.  We decided to paint the inset area only since the color is dark and we did not want to make the overall feel of the room dark.  Just painting that small area made a huge impact.

Doesn't it look great?  It is the perfect dark "backdrop" for the TV and console and gives it a more custom look.

Once that change was made, I finished off the space with a few new items.  Throw pillows full of texture added interest.  I used lighter color pillows to balance out the gray accent wall and dark wood furniture.  The pillows soften up the leather sofa and make the room feel inviting.

I love the pillows I found from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  They are so affordable and the quality is really nice!

To anchor the space, I added a neutral color rug with a lot of texture.  The layout of this room is a little tricky so I went with a smaller size rug to define the conversation area.  The subtle pattern compliments the throw pillows perfectly!

This rug is so comfortable and cozy!  The color is a nice contrast on the dark floors and brightens up the room a bit!

To add some ambiance to the space, I chose an industrial style tripod lamp.  I love the simple design and the way it fits perfectly in the corner!

It looks gorgeous at night next to the dark wall and adds a soft glow to the space while watching TV.

This lamp is sold as a set and is a steal.  The smaller version of this lamp was perfect to put on the nightstand in the bedroom.

I didn't want to overdo it with decor but did grab a few things to accessorize with.  I love using plants as decor because they bring in a natural touch and can be used in any space.  I found some great faux plants from the Better Homes & Gardens line.  They look so realistic and were budget friendly!

A few faux plants sprinkled around the room added an organic touch to the space.  The coffee table decor is super simple but just enough.  I was excited to find the hammered metal tray in store at Walmart.  It keeps the industrial vibe going while the candle adds a homey feel.

Simple but sufficient...

To soften up the fireplace area, I added this gorgeous woven basket and a few textured pillows, all from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  Extra pillows are great to have handy for movie nights and they look great over by the fireplace!  I will probably add a cozy throw to the mix when fall rolls around!

Link: Woven Basket Planter

The black accent color on the basket looks great against the stone!  When decorating with dark colors, its always good to keep a balance throughout the room.

I love all this texture!  Texture is so important when you have a neutral color scheme.

Loving the new look....

All done!  I really love the way it turned out and I am glad he trusted me to take over!  He really loves the way it turned out, too.  He's text me a few times telling me how much he likes it now that it is all finished and he has "lived" with it for a few days! Now we are trying to find something to hang on the wall behind the lamp...I have given him the task of finding something he loves! I really think the paint made such a huge difference....now I am trying to figure out what I can paint in my house!  Stay tuned....

Bachelor pad (but make it cozy) vibes....

If you want a budget friendly way to transform a room, I highly recommend painting something...a wall, a piece of furniture, cabinets, the whole space....possibilities are endless.  Check out the amazing color options from the Better Homes & Gardens paint line HERE!
