Change is Good: {Simple Updates with Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart}

Today I am excited to share my first project partnering with Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart! I am so excited to have them as a new sponsor and look forward to sharing their products with you over the next year! We have some fun stuff in the works and I am grateful for this opportunity.  As always, any opinions expressed in this post are mine. Thank you for supporting my blog and my blog sponsors!

This month, BHG Live Better wanted me to share how I make my house a home. I have lived in my townhome for just over two years and it has definitely become my happy place.  After a huge life change, a big move, downsizing living space and starting a new chapter, it was important to me for my new home to feel cozy, safe and welcoming.

When I first moved, I kept a lot of items that I had in my old house.  Familiarity was important to me and I was attached to my stuff since I loved the home I left!  2 years later, I am beginning to switch it up a bit and bring in items that define my (always changing) style more.  Whatever that style may be...who knows!  I tend to be drawn to the industrial, vintage vibe mixed in with a touch of farmhouse and maybe even a hint of modern.  For me, making your house a home, means adding your personal style to each space! It means buying things that catch your attention and using them in unique ways.  It means creating a space that just feels cozy and comfortable!

The first switch I made was replacing my dining chairs.  I came across these Better Homes & Gardens metal bistro style chairs and fell in love.  The price was unbelievable at under $100 for all 4, so that made my decision easy!  Once they arrived, I was so impressed with the quality.  I love the modern feel they bring into the space and I know they would look beautiful paired with any style of table!

Another impactful change I made was adding this beautiful shag rug. I love how it defines the dining area in my open concept home.  It was yet another affordable find from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart and the quality is amazing...super soft and doesn't shed at all!  The price was extremely affordable.  If you are looking for a budget friendly way to update a room, adding a new rug is such an easy way!

As mentioned above, I love mixing styles... a boho style rug, industrial metal chairs and a wood farmhouse style table make this space unique and unexpected!

While shopping for those items, I came across so many great accessories and decor items from the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart.  Nothing says "home" like creating special moments and filling your home with the people you care about!

Whether it is a big fancy dinner or a small impromptu brunch, the Better Homes & Gardens Live Better line at Walmart  has everything you need to make entertaining easy!  Take a look at all the goodies I found...

This white ceramic pitcher is a decor staple in my opinion.  Of course you can use it to serve your favorite beverage but it can also be used in other ways...add seasonal stems for an instant centerpiece, style it in a grouping  to decorate open shelving or even plant a small houseplant inside to use as a unique planter!  At under $20, this is a great decor piece to invest in!

More wonderful products I used to style my brunch tablescape are this jute braid place mats, these melamine dinner plates, an adorable embossed butter dish, this rustic, acacia cake stand, and simple fringe dish towels.  I love that these products are useful and look so great on the table!

I also picked up this Acacia wood tray knowing it was another great decor staple to have around the house!  Trays are great to use for serving food but can also be used in so many different ways.  Here are a few ideas:

-Use on a bathroom counter to hold towels and soaps or make up and jewelry.

-Add to a guest room bed to hold fresh flowers and sweet treats to welcome your guest with.

-Use on a kitchen counter to create a coffee bar.  Style with mugs, stirs and creamer and sugar containers,

-Use on a coffee table...just add a stack of books, a candle or a plant!

Lots of great uses for this tray!  For this brunch, I used mine as a small coffee prep station. This cream and sugar set was a great addition and allowed guests to serve themselves because we all know how important it is to get just the right amount of cream and sugar!

For me, home is a  place that you can gather with all your loved ones for big celebrations or low key gatherings.  A place filled with the sound of laughter, the smell of yummy food, the sight of those you hold dear and memories being made for a lifetime...

Of course when you aren't entertaining, home should be a cozy and comfy place you find peace and serenity in.  One of my favorite places is this little sitting area in my living room.  I often find myself here relaxing with a hot cup of coffee and a sweet treat...

To make this space even more relaxing, I added this textured striped blanket and this sweater knit throw pillow to the space.  The quality of both of these items is impressive, especially at their unbelievably affordable price points!  Make sure to check out the Better Homes & Gardens line at Walmart of home products if you are needing a quick refresh on a budget!
